When It Comes To A Big Screen TV...
Size Matters!
Some day we will have a big
screen TV, but that day won’t be any time soon. My husband says
that we have to have one, and I say the one we have now is
enough. There are other things that are higher on the priority
list, like owning our own home, and I don’t hardly think we need
to spend up to a thousand dollars on a TV when we have a decent
one now that works just fine. I understand that they size of a
television is more important to a man, but this is where I will
not budge.
We walk into a store and he stares at a big screen TV like it
was his last meal or something. I tell him he’s pathetic, but in
all honestly I do understand wanting something for whatever
reasons you have. There are good reasons and bad reasons, but
they are valid nonetheless. I understand that a big screen TV is
just something that he wants, but I do think it is in our best
interest to wait a few years before we buy one.
I think his need to have a big screen TV came from the day he
went to watch football at his dad’s house. He doesn’t see his
dad a lot, so this was something he was really looking forward
to. When he got back he went on and on about what it was like to
watch the game on the big screen TV, and he wanted to know when
we could get one. I told him I wasn’t buying one just so he
could watch football once a week on it. I guess it was harsh,
but someone around here needs to be logical.
I’m not a big meanie, I promise. He has all the toys he could
ever want. He has five guitars, and all the lovely expensive
things that come with it. He also has a surround sound system,
and a nice stereo system in our car. I know that the big screen
TV will be next on the list, but I am holding out as long as I
can. I keep reminding him that the big screen TV will be so much
sweeter when we can bring it home and set it in a living room
that we own, not one that we rent. For him, perhaps, nothing
will be sweeter!
