The Kitchen Table Is A Perfect
Place To Begin A Simple Kitchen Makeover
I get tired of my surroundings
pretty quickly so I am often looking for ways to change up my environment. Many
times I can achieve this by buying a new piece of furniture, plant, or piece of
artwork for the wall. Other times I may paint a piece of furniture some bright
new color in order to spice up my home. One room that I redecorate often is the
kitchen because it is one of the smaller rooms and therefore easier and more
affordable to redecorate on a whim.
Updating or upgrading your kitchen can be very simple and achieved by purchasing
only a few small items. You can change the feel of the entire room by purchasing
simple things such has plates, place mats, and the like without breaking your
budget. There are some things in my kitchen that I can not redecorate such as
the cabinets, appliances, and of course, the kitchen table.
I have a large oak kitchen table that is very heavy and it was quite a bit of a
tour to get it into my house. This reason, I doubt that I will ever replace it.
So I am stuck with the kitchen table that I have and must to decorate around it
when I am tired of my kitchen. This can be a very simple and quick undertaking.
In many instances I have been able to change the entire feel of an entire room
for less than $100.
I may not be able to get rid of my kitchen table but I can certainly do a lot to
change its look. New place mats, plates, salt and pepper shakers, and perhaps a
centerpiece can go a long way in changing the feel of your kitchen. You can get
your kitchen a bright new feel by incorporating new colors. If you want to tie
in a room together, you can move from decorating the kitchen table and make your
way to the Windows. Updating your curtains with a new style, texture, or color
is a simple and usually cheap way of taking the design of your kitchen to the
next level.
Look around for a small set of shelves or are framed art to add little touches
here and there. Small items like salt and pepper shakers often go unnoticed when
they are boring but can, surprisingly enough, be something of a focal point if
the right set is picked out. Read decorating your kitchen, or any room for that
matter, does not have to be a big deal. You can do it with a small amount of
time and money if you know how to stretch your budget. Look for good deals on
lots of small items instead of spending a lot of money on one piece.
